Getting started with My Manchester

My Manchester is a digital platform for Manchester students which connects you to all the tools you need for your studies and essential services such as your timetable, email, Blackboard, library account and many more useful apps.

Here’s a quick guide to help get you started and understand the main functions of your My Manchester student portal.

Accessing blackboard

From the front page of My Manchester you can access Blackboard, your online learning system, by going to ‘Tools’ and then ‘Blackboard’ on the left hand navigation.

Accessing library

You can access your library account, change your PIN and search for books from the ‘My Library’ tab. You’ll find this under the ‘My University’ section on the left hand navigation.

Accessing student system

The student system is where you’ll go to confirm your attendance as a new student, as well as holding your academic records, finance information and more. You’ll find the ‘Student System’ under ‘Tools’ in the left hand navigation.

Finding your timetable

You can find your timetable by clicking on ‘My Timetable’ in the left hand navigation. This will take you to a login page where you’ll need to enter your student username and password to access your timetable.

Viewing and editing your profile

You can change or update your personal information by going to the ‘My Profile’ tab in the left hand navigation. Make sure all your details are correct and up to date.

Uploading your photo

You’ll need to upload a suitable photo of yourself for your student card before you arrive at Manchester, which you can do in My Manchester.

Accessing student attendance system

We are gradually introducing a new online student attendance system across the University. Your programme team will let you know when you need to start using this system to register your attendance. Find out more about the system and how to use it on the My Attendance page.
