Civil Engineering (taught master's)

Welcome back to a new year. We realise that the circumstances of returning to university this year are a bit different from normal, which is why we have gathered together this information to help you settle back into university life, find out more about how your studies will be conducted, and connect with your lecturers and course mates.

Your year will start with a "Welcome back" session during the week commencing 1st February. This will be organised by your Department so watch out for an email from them.

In the meantime there are a growing range of "on demand" sessions you can view at your convenience, which cover topics such as wellbeing, and the essentials of learning - good for the current climate and in case you need a refresher.

Support for your studies

Our commitment to you is to provide an excellent student experience whether on-line or face to face in the safest way possible.

If you have any general queries in the first instance, please explore the information, advice and guidance which can be accessed on-line for the following services:

Your safety and wellbeing is our number one priority and the decision has been made that traditional departmental student support offices will remain closed for the time being, this is to reduce student and staff traffic in these buildings.

We recommend that you contact our department Teaching and Learning Student Support Office for the majority of your enquiries at in the first instance. However, if your query requires speaking to a member of staff in person or you require urgent welfare support, you are advised to visit one of our support hubs.

Your Student Support Hub will provide you with the following services:

  • Signposting and answering queries relating to your course.
  • Student Support and Welfare guidance and support.
  • Services your department support office would normally provide.
