Welcome information and timetables

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to study at The University of Manchester.

Congratulations on your results and welcome to Criminology at Manchester! We hope you’re as excited about joining us, as we are about welcoming you to the University.

Before you arrive, make sure you read all about the actions you need to take to get ready to start your degree.

Welcome for undergraduate students will begin week commencing 21 September 2020 with the University Welcome and Induction Programme and the week commencing 28 September 2020 with the School and departmental induction activities. 

During Welcome, there will be many different kinds of activities organised by the University and Students' Union that will help you to get to know people.

There are lots of important talks and events that you will need to attend. This includes the Sustainability Challenge, which is one of the three Ethical Grand Challenges you'll need to complete if you want to work towards the Manchester Leadership Award.

School and departmental induction sessions are scheduled to be hosted at the following dates and times:

  • Monday 28 September (11.30am-12pm) - Q&A with Programme Director, Dr Will Floodgate
  • Monday 28 September (12.30-1.30pm) - ‘With International Studies’ Programme meeting, Dr Laura Bui
  • Monday 28 September (1.30-4pm) - Sexual consent workshop
  • Wednesday 30 September (10am-12pm) - Meetings with Academic Advisors
  • Wednesday 30 September (1.30-4pm) - Sexual consent workshop
  • Thursday 1 October (10-10.30am) - Q&A with Programme Director, Dr Will Floodgate
