Welcome information and timetables
A three-week Welcome and Induction period commences in the week beginning 5 October 2020.
Weeks commencing 5 and 12 October 2020 will involve University and Students’ Union activities, and the week commencing 19 October 2020 will focus on course-specific activities.
All of these activities will be online/virtual, with the blend of synchronous and asynchronous activities allowing you to revisit material in your own time, and ask questions and meet members of staff in real-time.
Make sure you familiarise yourself with your course Welcome timetable.

You should also frequently check Blackboard and your University email address for the latest information and accessible Welcome timetables.
It is expected that students will attend all of their course's induction events. If you are unable to attend these sessions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
University-level Welcome events can be booked onto by following the link at the bottom of this page. Please ensure that any events you book onto don't clash with any course-specific induction events.
Please note that distance learning students on MA Digital Technologies, Communication and Education are not expected to attend the same Welcome events as students on a full-time course. Your Programme Administrator will contact you to provide the information needed regarding induction for the distance course.
During Welcome please contact your Programme Administrator with any queries from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Teaching will begin in the week commencing Monday, 26 October 2020.
It is important that academic staff meet with you to advise you before you select your optional course units. As part of your Welcome timetable, you will get the opportunity to meet with academic staff.
After you have all the relevant information, you must select your optional course units. Optional course unit selection should be completed by the end of Welcome but you are able to change your options up to the end of the second week of teaching (Friday, 6 November 2020).
The latest date on which the School will allow you to register is Monday, 2 November 2020. No consideration will be made by the School for any impact on your studies as a result of your late registration. You should note that a late registration fee will be charged by the University Fees Office if you arrive and register late for your course of study.
