Starting your Integrated Foundation Year

Our aim on the Foundation Year is to give you the same student experience as any other undergraduate at The University of Manchester.

By adopting the same approach to teaching and assessment as the other Departments in the Faculty, we aim to give you the best possible preparation for progressing to first year in September 2023.

The core of our teaching will be based around a blended approach, designed to reflect the way our students like to learn and to deliver a high-quality, engaging learning experience.
Teaching will be delivered on campus in a variety of formats, including lectures, workshops, seminars, tutorials etc. In addition to timetabled, in-person activities (typically around 18 hours per week), students will be expected to spend a similar amount of time on directed, self-study activities, such as watching bespoke video content, reading course notes, working through examples and online self-assessment material.

There will be regular drop-in sessions for students to get extra help and you will have an academic advisor who can provide general academic guidance and support.
