Sport and active lifestyles
Achieve a healthy work-life balance at Manchester.
Sport and fitness at Manchester isn't just about Athletic Union teams. You'll find a huge variety of physcial activites, sports and facilities to suit every individual lifestyle. Getting invovled in sport is also a great way to stay fit, make lifelong friendships and enjoy life outside of your academic studies.
There are a number of different programmes you can get involved in to play sport on campus that range from something for a beginner right through to our next aspiring Olympian or Paralympian. Get out and try something new with Sporticipate, free activites on campus and in Halls of Residence that take place each week and are aimed at complete beginners.
Keep up your sport or try a new one in a relaxed, social environment with Campus Sport. There are more than 365 teams in campus leagues, with weekly fixtures against other Manchester students across seven different sports. Alternatively if you're looking to compete and excel with fellow atheles in your field of choice you can take a look at sports clubs in the Athletic Union.
If you're looking to keep fit and stay active we have world-class facilities around the campus including the Armitage Sport Centre located in Fallowfield, and Manchester Aquatic Centre building for the 2002 Commonwealth Games. You can join activites such as yoga and mindfulness workshops in our purpose-built wellbeing rooms at the heart of campus.
If you won't be on campus in Semester 1 you can still join in with #ActiveAnywhere which will continue with live and pre-recorded workouts, Zoom classes and weekly challenges. In addition we'll be offering more personalised training with our fitness team, Q&A sessions with our physiotherapist and more strength and conditioning sessions designed by our coaches.
