Message from the Head of Division

Dear first-year optometry student,

I am looking forward to meeting you when you arrive in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry next month. I hope you are excited about the prospect of studying optometry and joining our community.

Our students are the lifeblood of the Division, and my staff and I work hard to ensure that the student experience here is a good one and extends beyond getting a good degree.

We offer support to the student organisations OpSoc and the Healthcare Alliance (HEAL), and I would strongly encourage you to get involved with these groups, as well as other clubs and societies, as they help you grow into a well-rounded healthcare professional (and can also be a lot of fun!).

Please do not forget that it is essential that all optometry students are registered with the General Optical Council – please ensure you do this before Welcome Week.
