Student support

Welcome to The University of Manchester!

My name is Ryan Hurst, and I'm the Student Support Administrator and Disability Support Co-ordinator for undergraduates studying Psychology, Audiology and Speech and Language Therapy.

What this means is that I am your first point of contact to provide you with support, advice and guidance on any non-academic issues while at the University. If there's anything you feel might be affecting your studies, then I'm the man to speak to.

Students generally come and see me if they have any questions about financial hardship, wellbeing issues, general questions about the University, attendance problems, etc.

I have good links with other areas of support at the University, so will often signpost students to more tailored areas of support as the Students' Union, the Counselling service and our own Occupational Health Service.

DASS (Disability Advisory and Support Service)

We have a number of students with disabilities on our degree programmes. We aim to offer a supportive environment for all students with disabilities.

To provide you with appropriate information and help, we need to know about any reasonable adjustments you may need. Please contact the Disability Advisory and Support Service for further information and support.

The most important thing to remember is that there are always people here to help if there's something you're not sure about, so please just ask!
