Clinical wear

You will be provided with a lab coat, iPad, protective eyewear and clinical scrubs during your programme.

BDS Dentistry students will receive a lab coat on Tuesday 22 September. Your timetable will show the time and location for collection. You will receive your iPad, protective eyewear and clinical scrubs later in the programme.

BSc Dental Hygiene & Therapy students will receive a lab coat, iPad, protective eyewear and clinical scrubs on the afternoon of Monday 21 September.

Lab coat

Lab coats must be worn to the enter the dissection room and laboratories. If you arrive without your lab coat, you will not be admitted and will miss the session.

If your lab coat is lost, you will be able to buy a replacement.

Scrubs

You will be required to wear scrubs for all clinical sessions in line with NHS Trust policy.

These scrubs are in a specific blue colour that will identify you on the clinic as an undergraduate student. We will work with you on sizing to order you two pairs in the first instance.

You will be required to wear black 'duty' shoes in all clinical areas. These shoes must not be high heeled and must cover the whole of the foot for your safety.

All of this will be covered during your introduction to clinical sessions as you progress through Year 1.
