How your course will be delivered
We understand that you may have questions about how your course will be delivered in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We've summarised the main points below.
We are planning to deliver a blend of online and face-to-face teaching.
Xaverian College teaching
50% of the programme is delivered by Xaverian College, which is a short distance from the University.
Teaching here will take place both online and at the college.
Lectures and small group teaching
All lectures will be delivered online. They will either be delivered live, or pre-recorded and split into smaller learning components.
When possible, face-to-face teaching will take place in small groups. All students will be allocated to an Enquiry Based Learning (EBL) group of up to 14 students. Depending on the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the University, EBL sessions may take place online.
Online language sessions will take place each week. These will be in groups slightly larger than your EBL group.
Lab skills sessions will take place on campus in small groups with social distancing measures in place throughout the session. These skills sessions generally happen once a week and attendance is compulsory.
Any students self-isolating will not be able to take part in lab skills until they are able to safely return. You will, however, be able to watch useful videos that will help to understand any skills you are missing.
