Pharmacy (Undergraduate)
Online teaching update
In response to an increase in the COVID-19 infection rate in Manchester and in line with our commitment to protect the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and the wider community, the University is increasing the level of online learning from Wednesday, 7 October 2020.
Your programme team will let you know how this affects your particular course. Please contact them with any questions.
Message from the Head of Division
Dear first-year MPharm student,
I am looking forward to meeting you when you arrive in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry next month. I hope you are excited about the prospect of studying pharmacy and joining our community.
Our students are the lifeblood of the Division and my staff and I work hard to ensure that the student experience here is a good one and extends beyond getting a good degree.
We offer support to the student organisations Manchester University Pharmacy Society (MUPS) and Healthcare Alliance (HEAL). I would strongly encourage you to get involved with these groups, as well as other clubs and societies, as they help you grow into a well-rounded healthcare professional (and can also be a lot of fun!).
You are joining the pharmacy community at an exciting time as we are focusing on developing our clinical skills to provide more – and I hope better – care for patients.
One of the great advantages that the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry offers is great links with some of the best pharmacy clinicians and practitioners in the UK, and making the most of all these opportunities will help you as you progress.
If you have any questions about any aspect of your course, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
With best wishes,
Professor Jayne Lawrence
